How do you know when you’ve found paradise? This question isn’t easy to answer, and responses vary person to person…
For residents of Los Islotes, paradise is found past the hustle and bustle of Panama City… beyond the winding roads that lead through the interior… and past the small villages of the Panamanian countryside that seem lost in time…
It’s found when they reach the grand gate at the Los Islotes entrance. You can tell that something special is on the other side by how detailed the gate is, with a beautifully carved tree to the side displaying Veraguas Province’s history.
What lies beyond the gate?
A state-of-the-art residential development where timeless, Spanish-colonial-style architecture punctuates the lush, rolling hills and the world’s best ocean views lie beyond every bend.
Today we’re going to take a look at the paradise that is Los Islotes… a bastion of privacy and luxury in perfect harmony with nature.
Where Is Los Islotes?
Los Islotes is found near the southern tip of the Veraguas Province in south-central Panama. It lies on the west coast of the Azuero Peninsula, a large piece of land that juts out into the Pacific Ocean.
Here’s a zoomed-out view of Los Islotes’ location…
The west coast of the Azuero Peninsula is little-known… not even many Panamanians are familiar with it or have traveled here. It’s far more rugged and untouched than the east coast of the Azuero, which has several popular towns (like Chitré, Las Tablas, and Pedasí).
The most developed area on the west coast is Torio, which is about a 30-minute drive north of Los Islotes. It has a fairly developed expat community, made up of mostly retirees, although younger folks are starting to move in.
You won’t have much trouble getting to know other expats in the area. A group of 20 to 30 people get together for trivia and themed game nights at different restaurants.
A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats
Los Islotes is a private master-planned residential community designed with high-end amenities for maximum comfort… the only of its kind and caliber in the area…
More than a development, it’s a private community for like-minded people who value privacy, security, freedom, independence, and elbow room…
All infrastructure—including the best internet, electricity, water, roads, and drainage on this coast—has already been installed. There’s 24-hour security, so you don’t need to worry about your property when you’re not around.
And a small handful of homes have already been built, each with the traditional Spanish-colonial style. An equestrian center, beach bar, community garden, and hiking trails are already in place.
Upcoming amenities include the development of a Town Center and Spanish colonial-style church, as well as a library, a student learning center for the local Quebro community, and an expanded version of the already-built museum.
As the country progresses, so too will this area of Veraguas. Recently, nearby Bramador Plaza opened up a grocery store, gas station, and more, bringing more amenities closer to Los Islotes.
What’s There To Do At Los Islotes?
All kinds of activities are available on-site at Los Islotes, which was designed with community and comfort in mind.
Hiking, hill-top yoga, horse-back riding, paddleboarding in the estuary while trying to spot monkeys, barbecuing at the beach, kayaking, taking on the waves at Surfer’s Beach, volleyball, or simply swinging in a hammock… There are plenty of ways to have fun at Los Islotes.
The property is on a prime piece of real estate that boasts two beaches: Playa del Sol with calm waters ideal for swimming and Surfer’s Beach with powerful crashing waves. Here you find Panama Jack’s Beach Bar, a well-equipped outpost and the perfect place to watch the sunset.
There’s also an estuary with a dock next to Mango Village where you can launch a kayak or paddleboard. Lined by mangroves with crystal-clear waters, the estuary is the best place to spot sea turtles gliding through the calm waters and capuchin monkeys swinging through the trees overhead.
Nature thrives in this unspoiled part of the world. Just offshore, you can go fishing or scuba dive or snorkel. You can even go whale watching in season. And without any light pollution, Los Islotes offers unmatched stargazing opportunities.

Could Los Islotes Be For You?
Los Islotes needs to be experienced to be fully understood… no words could possibly do justice to the beauty of the landscape, peaceful atmosphere, and cotton-candy sunsets.
Being in Los Islotes, removed from the chaos of the world, delivers a boost of energy you didn’t even know you needed…
